The world wheat production forecast for 2024 has been revised up, and global rice production has been revised up due to revisions in Bangladesh and Vietnam. The forecast for world cereal consumption in 2024/25 is up 0.2% from 2023/24, and total coarse grain utilization is forecast to increase by 0.2% in 2024/25, despite a downward revision of 3.8 million tonnes in August 2024. The forecast for world cereal trade in 2024/25 is raised by 2 million tonnes due to an upward revision to global maize trade on expected higher US exports.
