The agricultural self-government is demanding changes in food labeling. It proposes the introduction of a requirement to inform consumers about what percentage of the price of a finished product in the store constitutes the cost of the raw material. This is, of course, to illustrate the drastic difference between the prices that farmers receive for their agricultural products and those displayed on store shelves. The National Council of Agricultural Chambers (KRIR) in its address to the Minister of Agriculture cites data from the Central Statistical Office indicating that food prices in Poland in 2025 showed an upward trend - for example, in May the increase was 5.5 percent year-on-year, in July - 5.7 percent, and in October - 3.4 percent. Meanwhile, the prices of agricultural raw materials are still at a very low level.
