The target for recruitment is domestic companies developing methane reduction feed additives or related technologies for ruminants, and applications are accepted on a product basis. In particular, small and medium-sized enterprises and venture companies will be given priority support to increase the participation of companies with technological capabilities but heavy verification costs. The products of the selected companies will undergo a test bed experiment utilizing cow stomach fluid, and the test results, including methane emissions, will be provided to the companies to allow them to review the possibility of conducting subsequent verification tests on their own. Companies wishing to participate can refer to the announcement posted on the Livestock Environmental Management Institute website (QR code reference) or homepage (https://www.lemi.or.kr) and apply by the end of July. The submitted products will be selected as support targets after undergoing technical and eligibility reviews. Lee Jae-sik, the Livestock Policy Director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, said, "Low-methane feed is a key measure to reduce greenhouse gases in the livestock sector, but the development and dissemination of domestic methane reduction agents to support this are still in the early stages." He added, "We expect that this test bed project will reduce the burden on companies' development and hope that excellent methane reduction agents will be developed more quickly, and we look forward to the interest and participation of related companies."
