All 57 cages for grouper farming in the area were affected. The total yield of dead fish was approximately 60 tons, with each fish weighing between 0.5 and 5 kg. Notably, most were commercial fish in the preparation phase for sale. Many farming households face the risk of financial ruin due to the large investment in this farming operation. Fish farmers reported that they had proactively moved the cages to the An Hai anchorage area to avoid the impact of the Southeast monsoon. However, on March 31, the fish began to show unusual signs such as loss of appetite, loss of mucus, and reddening of the abdomen.
