The Spanish Chorizo Consortium has strengthened its presence in France, the second-largest market for chorizo products bearing the consortium's seal after the UK. In the first half of 2022, chorizo sales in France reached 269,023.47 kg, a 3.35% increase from the previous year. The primary types of chorizo sold in France are sliced, chorizo candle, and chorizo sarta. Spain's total cured sausage exports to France surpassed 12.6 million kg in the first half of the year, valued at over 79.3 million euros. Catalonia leads the autonomous communities exporting the most to France. The Spanish Chorizo Consortium will further boost its visibility by participating in the SIAL trade fair in Paris.
