French winemakers and cognac producers are optimistic about the progress in negotiations with China regarding the anti-dumping investigation launched against EU agricultural products. Recent discussions at the Shanghai Fair and meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron have led to a positive outlook. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has announced temporary anti-dumping measures against EU brandy suppliers, effective November 15, and has changed the security deposit requirement for importers of cognac and armagnac. This decision follows the European Commission's introduction of temporary duties against Chinese electric vehicles. The response from EU countries to this action varies, with not all supporting the initiative and the proposed maximum duties being set at 35% instead of the proposed 45%.
