Over several nights, a cooling to as low as -8 degrees Celsius struck domestic plantations. The northern and northeastern regions may be particularly severely affected, but other growing areas are not spared from damage. After last year, serious spring frost damage threatens domestic fruit production once again. The Arctic-origin cold that broke between April 7 and 12 caused critical cooling in many parts of the country, with minimum temperatures ranging from -2 to -8 degrees Celsius depending on the region and microenvironment. This is already a severe blow, but the situation is further worsened by the fact that most fruit species were in their most sensitive developmental state.
