Frozen Ukrainian raspberries exported to US and Canada for the first time

In 2021, Ukrainian frozen raspberries were exported to the United States and Canada for the first time. According to the Ukrainian Horticultural Association, one consignment of raspberries has been shipped to Canada and one consignment to the United States. The amount was that of one sea container. The importance of this event for the development of soft fruit cultivation and deep-freezing in Ukraine is explained by the high demands placed on quality and logistics, which were successfully handled by the Ukrainian suppliers. Of course, the Ukrainian raspberry exporter first had to successfully go through FDA (United States Food and Drug Administration) certification. Another important finding is that the US and Canada traditionally pay higher prices for imported raspberries than other major importing countries.
