Garlic exports of Peru totaled 6,298 MT until August 2023

The last few years have been positive for Peruvian garlic, which has allowed Peru to be among the top 10 suppliers of this product in the world. So far this year, through August, Peruvian shipments totaled 6,298 tons worth approximately $7 million. This meant a growth of 27% in volume and 16% in value, according to FreshFruit. The average price received by Peruvian exporters could be sustained due to the increase in volumes, trading at $1.08 per kilogram, 8% lower than the previous year. Many of the positive factors that benefited Peruvian garlic in recent years were maintained in this campaign, such as limited European production, sustained growth in demand and the expansion of the Peruvian campaign.
