Turkey is investing in its first geothermal resource region in Denizli, establishing the Denizli Sarayköy Geothermal Heated Greenhouse Organized Agricultural Zone. The region, spread over 729 decares and funded with 200 million TL, has 7 greenhouses initially producing tomatoes, with room for expansion. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry aims for high tech, high yield agriculture with a focus on the environment and zero waste. The zone also includes land for industry, with plans to employ 1,000 people and generate 1 billion TL in annual economic impact. The ministry is investing in more organized agricultural zones to support agriculture, boost economic growth, and provide jobs.
