German imports of Turkish peppers are plummeting

German imports of Turkish peppers have fallen sharply over the past two seasons, according to calculations by the Spanish news service Hortoinfo based on data from the statistical service Euroestacom. Compared to 2020/2021, the import of Turkish peppers fell by 90.1% last season. According to the report, it is very likely that this decrease is partly a result of the high number of warnings for exceeding the MRLs. Spain remains the main supplier of peppers to the German market, with 207.81 million kilos in 2022/23. That is good for a share of 60.69%.
