Ghana's Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Yaw Frimpong Addo, has outlined the nation's strategy to enhance food systems to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Despite being one of the most food-secure countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Ghana struggles with malnutrition and declining soil fertility. The plan includes reducing food loss, improving resilient production, and empowering smallholder farmers, women, and youth. Other strategies include enhancing nutrition in school feeding programs, promoting healthy eating, and strengthening policymaking and private sector engagement. The country also aims to increase the production of climate-resilient crops, reduce post-harvest losses, and increase access to affordable feed for the poultry and aquaculture industries by 2030.
