Turkey's gherkin exports experienced a 4 percent increase in the first nine months of the year, reaching $113 million 446 thousand 235, according to the Aegean Exporters' Association. The majority of these exports were to Germany, followed by the Netherlands and the UK, with the Aegean Region being the primary producer, especially in Izmir. However, climate issues have led farmers to shift their focus to less water-consuming crops, despite the profitable gherkin exports. Lütfiye Görgülü, a producer, expressed satisfaction with the season's yield, stating that the majority of the village's production is collected for export to factories.
