Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, the Minister for Food and Agriculture in Ghana, has promised support to Maphlix Trust Farms Limited, the country's largest potato exporter. This promise was made during a visit to the farm, which is expanding its operations and seeking connections to various utility networks. The farm, which started in 2013 and runs on power plants and borehole water, is currently cultivating orange-fleshed potatoes across 700 acres, with plans to expand. However, the need for more tractors and facilities for processing and packaging remains. Additionally, the Minister is looking to establish a formal agreement with a Dutch plant propagation company to provide high-quality seedlings for the government's agricultural projects.
