Germany: Kale cultivation in Lower Saxony is only slowly recovering

The harvest amounted to around 573,300 tons. Compared to the previous year, the number of farms fell by 4.3%, the size of the acreage by 1.9% and the harvest volume by 11.0% grow it increased by 33.3% compared to the previous year to 232. They harvested 6,354 tons of kale (+1.0% compared to 2021) on an area of about 397 hectares (+6.7% compared to 2021) . In 2020, the acreage was still 519 hectares, where 8,695 tons of kale were harvested. The slump in 2021 caused by the pandemic will therefore only be compensated for slowly.
