The Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Food has awarded the Alimentos de España prize for the best spirits beverage with Geographical Indication 2025 to Hierbas Familia Marí Mayans, from the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Hierbas Ibicencas, produced by the company Aromáticas de Ibiza. The resolution has been published in the Official State Gazette (BOE). The jury highlighted the "elegance, balance and extremely high quality" of this beverage, as well as its ability to reflect the aromas and Mediterranean essence of the Balearic Islands, evoking the Ibizan lifestyle, linked to gastronomy and social interaction. It also valued the trajectory of the family business that produces it, which since 1880 has managed to keep an ancestral tradition alive by combining artisanal methods with sustainable practices and a clear orientation towards the circular economy.
