Pollock surimi production in January saw a significant decrease of 37.5% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, data from December last year revealed varying import volumes of different types of surimi in Hokkaido, with cod surimi at 9,688 tons, sea bream surimi at 1,735 tons, barracuda and snapper meat at 107 tons, other fish and meat at 7,598 tons, frozen pollock at 30 tons, and frozen pollock fillets at 660 tons. The annual import volumes for these categories in 2023 showed a mix of increases and decreases compared to 2022.
