Colombian exports in 2020 decreased by 21.4% compared to the previous year, totaling US $ 31,056.5 million FOB, primarily due to a 39.5% drop in fuels and extractive industries products. Despite this, agricultural exports experienced a 6.9% growth. Manufacturing exports also saw a decrease of 16.2%. The United States was the main destination for Colombian exports, but the fall in crude oil exports to the country significantly contributed to the decrease in external sales. However, there was a notable increase in non-monetary gold sales. In December 2020, exports experienced a 9.0% decrease, with the United States still being the main destination.
