In 2024, 564 thousand tons of potatoes were exported from the country — 37% more than the previous year. Kazakhstan continues to increase its potato imports. According to the Bureau of National Statistics (BNS) of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, from January to May of this year, the volume of purchases abroad reached 145.3 thousand tons — 8 times more than in the same period of 2024, and 2.5 times more than for the entire previous year. Foreign suppliers received $38.5 million for potato sales in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the first five months of 2025. The growth over the year is colossal: 11.6 times.
