The average export price of South American shrimp was $9.01 per kilogram, a month-on-month increase of 1%.
In May, Vietnam's South American white shrimp exports to Mainland China and Hong Kong increased by 72% and 59% respectively, exports to South Korea grew by 20%, exports to the EU increased by 14%, exports to Japan grew by 3%, and the UK was the only market experiencing a decline, dropping 5% month-on-month.
In May, black tiger shrimp exports totaled 4,353 tons, a month-on-month increase of 8% and a year-on-year increase of 6%, with main export varieties including headless shrimp (PTO/PDTO), whole shrimp, peeled shrimp, steamed shrimp, and head-on shell-on shrimp (HLSO).
Vietnam's black tiger shrimp exports to Japan increased by 24%, to the US by 44%, to the EU by 26%, to South Korea by 12%, to the UK by 20%, while exports to China (including Hong Kong) decreased by 1%.
The average export price of black tiger shrimp was $11.82 per kilogram, a month-on-month decrease of 2% and a year-on-year increase of 4%.
