Between January and June of 2020, Russia experienced a significant surge in palm and sunflower oil exports to Turkmenistan, with volumes increasing by 8.1 times compared to the same period in the previous year. Palm oil exports rose to 240.6 tons, valued at $222.382, marking a 5.7-fold increase, while sunflower oil exports reached 20,000 tons, valued at $17.339 million, indicating a 2.4-fold increase. Additionally, Russia exported 2.7 tons of olive oil and 54 tons of soybean oil to Turkmenistan and imported 1,200 tons of soybean oil from Belarus. This period also saw an alleviation of the vegetable oil shortage in Turkmenistan, with the country importing Russian brand 'Sloboda' sunflower oil to address the supply issue.
