The "Ukrainian Grain Association" (UZA) forecasts a slight increase in the area planted with wheat and barley in the new season, while corn acreage may decrease. This is reported by Delo.ua. According to the association's estimates, wheat acreage will amount to about 5.25 million hectares compared to 5 million hectares last season. Barley acreage is expected to increase to 1.4 million hectares from 1.315 million hectares a year earlier. At the same time, corn acreage may decrease to 4.4 million hectares from 4.5 million hectares in 2025. The reduction is expected primarily in the southern regions due to dry weather. In the northern and western regions, which are more or less supplied with moisture, there are no expectations of a decrease in corn acreage.
