Vietnam: In the Western seafood market, snakehead fish and pangasius have continuously reduced prices, while frog meat prices have increased again

Recently, the price of farmed snakehead fish in the Mekong Delta region has continuously decreased and has decreased by at least 5,000-10,000 VND/kg compared to a few months ago. Farmed snakehead fish of 0.7-1kg/fish or more are being sold by farmers in many places for 35,000-40,000 VND/kg, those of up to 0.5 kg/fish are priced at 30,000-34,000 VND/kg. The retail price of farmed snakehead fish in many markets is 50,000-60,000 VND/kg. Fish prices decreased due to a sharp increase in supply due to the large number of fish reaching the sale stage, as well as because people have stepped up farming recently when snakehead fish sold at high prices in the first months of the year (from 45,000-50,000 VND/kg).
