The Irish Natura and Hill Farmers’ Association (INHFA) has appealed to the government for an emergency aid package to aid the Irish sheep sector. The association's leaders, including Vincent Roddy, Pheilim Molloy, and Micheal McDonnell, highlighted the sector's challenges such as falling lamb prices and rising feed costs. They propose an aid package that includes a €35/ewe payment for primary producers, as well as seeking funding from the €900 million Brexit Adjustment Reserve (BAR) Fund. The INHFA also emphasized the need for fair competition in markets and for the government to represent the interests of Irish farmers in any trade deals.
