Fruit growers who specialize in growing cherries emphasize that the rainfall fell at the moment when Summit was ripening and just before Techlovan and Carmen were ripening. These varieties, along with Burlat and Cassandra, are most susceptible to cracking after heavy rainfall. In short, today the greatest risk concerns soft varieties.
