The Director General of Iran's Office of Greenhouses, Ornamental Plants and Edible Mushrooms, Gholamreza Taghavi, announced the country's vegetable, summer fruit, and unusual crop production forecast for this year reaches 3.483 million tons, with an anticipated increase to 3.163 million tons by harvest time due to greenhouse production. The Ministry of Agriculture in Iran is planning to cultivate new crops like pineapple, banana, turmeric, and ginger in greenhouses. The ministry is also focusing on moving vegetable and summer crop cultivation indoors for controlled environments, modernizing greenhouse units, cultivating edible mushrooms, and enhancing production management through technical advancements and skilled labor training.
