The Italian Institute of Services for the Agricultural and Food Market (Ismea) has initiated a new program, 'Land Generation', to support young farmers and encourage generational change in Italian agriculture. The initiative offers state land loans to experienced farmers under 41, enabling them to purchase land worth up to €1,5 million, and a bonus of €70,000 to new farming companies. Additionally, inexperienced farmers under 35 can receive loans to fund agronomic degrees and farm registration. The program aims to inspire innovation and address the challenges of the climate crisis by providing the necessary resources for younger generations to start or expand their farming operations. The initiative will cost €60 million, with an additional €40 million for the bonuses, and applications must be submitted by June 30th, 2023.
