Wakayama Prefecture in Japan is conducting an outdoor control demonstration test against the alien species "Aromia bungii," which damages peaches and plum trees. The prefecture has set up an outdoor breeding facility at the Prefectural Fruit Tree Experiment Station Kaki-Momo Research Institute and plans to confirm the effects of registered chemicals on fruit tree test fields. The test aims to establish effective control methods as the damage spreads. The test will be conducted in compliance with the standards of the Ministry of the Environment and will be led by the Forestry Research Institute, which will also measure the effectiveness of chemical control in fields.
