Jeollanam-do Launches Nationwide Onion Consumption Promotion Campaign

Mid-to-late Variety Onion Production Volume Increases by 34,000 Tons 'Eat One More Onion Bag' Movement Discounts at 'Namdo Market and Taste Mall' Jeollanam-do Province launched a nationwide consumption promotion campaign in response to the expected wholesale price drop due to increased onion production this year. According to the Korea Rural Economic Institute's forecast, the 2025 mid-to-late variety onion production is expected to increase by 34,000 tons compared to the previous year. Following the early variety onion harvest in April and with the mid-to-late variety harvest approaching in June, optimal temperature and rainfall conditions have led to a 7.5% increase in production yield compared to last year.
