The Jeonnam Institute of Agricultural Technology is accelerating the spread of technology by transferring patented technologies to the private sector, thereby linking product development and field application. As the dissemination of field-based technologies such as smart irrigation expands, it is reducing the labor and management cost burden on farms while leading to increased sales and job creation for technology transfer companies, thereby producing positive effects across the local community. The success of technology transfer is also evident in the income from intellectual property licensing fees. The income from intellectual property licensing fees for job inventions in 2025 was 177.1 million won, nearly double the 58.6 million won in 2024. The Jeonnam Agricultural Technology Institute has been the basis for a total of 427 intellectual property rights from 2003 to 2025.
