The Zhetysay district in Kazakhstan's Turkestan region has started exporting its first cabbage harvest to Russia, with the initial shipment coming from the 'Myrza Ata' peasant farm. This cabbage, which costs 175 tenge ($0.26) per kg and ripened in 60 days, is part of a broader agricultural effort in the district. This year, 1,200 hectares are allocated for early-ripening cabbage, aiming for a yield of 36 thousand tons, a slight decrease from last year's 41 thousand tons. The majority of the harvest is destined for export to Russia, Belarus, and European countries. The district has plans to cultivate a variety of crops on 79.2 thousand hectares, including cotton, melons, vegetables, and fodder crops, highlighting its significant role in the agricultural sector.
