Kazakhstan has seen a significant increase in its grain harvest, threshing a record 26.5 million tons this year, up from 17.1 million tons last year. The surplus, which includes 12 million tons of grain and 1 million tons of oil crops, is expected to yield 7-7.5 million tons of wheat, 1.3-1.4 million tons of barley, and 300 thousand tons of corn, making it a substantial amount for export. The country plans to export 4.2 million tons of grain to Central Asian and Afghan countries, with China being a significant recipient. To support its agricultural sector, Kazakhstan has allocated a record 580 billion tenge ($1.2 billion) in 2023 and plans to increase this funding to 700 billion tenge ($1.44 billion) by 2025. This financial support, along with favorable weather conditions and agricultural practices, has contributed to the country's high grain yield.
