For the period July-January 2022/23, Kazakhstan saw a 33% increase in pea exports, totaling 35.8 thousand tons compared to the previous marketing year. The primary importer of these peas was Afghanistan, receiving 59% of the total shipments with 21.1 thousand tons. This shift is attributed to a decrease in deliveries to other countries, such as Iran and Russia, compensated by a threefold increase in Uzbekistan's imports. Additionally, Kazakhistan began exporting to countries like Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic, which were not recipients in the previous year.
