Kazakhstan will be able to import up to 5 thousand tons of beef without duties

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has agreed on the duty-free import of beef for the production of meat products to the EAEU countries, the EEC press service reports. According to the information, Kazakhstan will be able to import duty-free up to 5,000 tons of this meat. Also on the EEC website it is specified that in 2023 Armenia will be able to import duty-free up to 10 thousand tons, Belarus - up to 7.5 thousand tons, Kyrgyzstan - up to 2.5 thousand tons, Russia - up to 100 thousand tons. “The main volume of meat imports from third countries falls on frozen products, which are intended for the production of canned meat and sausages. The approved measure, first of all, is aimed at providing producers of meat products with affordable raw materials and stabilizing consumer prices for it,” the EEC trade block noted.
