Kenya's horticultural crop harvest reached Sh13.6 billion (105 million euros) in the previous year, up from Sh8.6 billion (66.4 million euros) the year before, driven by increased investment in the sector. Uasin Gishu County alone earned over Sh2.6 million (over $20,000) from passion fruit crops, and Nandi County averaged 7,000 kg of passion fruit harvests per month for both local and export markets. Many growers in the region have received support from USAid and the Kenya Horticulture Competitiveness Project (KHCP) to invest in passion fruit cultivation.
