Kenya is emerging as a significant market for Russian wheat exports, with plans to import 2.6 million tons in the 2024/25 agricultural year. Russia has played a crucial role in supporting Kenya's food security, with wheat exports to Kenya rising from 1.1 million tons in the 2022/23 season to 1.5 million tons in the 2023/24 season. By mid-November of the current season, Russia had exported 820.7 thousand tons of wheat to Kenya, meeting 60% of the country's wheat import needs, even though Kenya represents only 4% of Russia's total wheat export deliveries.
