The Department of Foreign Trade in Thailand is taking action to prevent the misrepresentation of Thai pomelo and other fruit products exported to China. This involves adding pomelo products to a watch-list and implementing stricter guidelines for issuing certificates to prevent the wearing of rights and falsification of origin. These steps aim to protect the reputation of Thai fruits in the global market and maintain export standards. In 2020, Thailand's exports of fresh and dried pomelo decreased by 15.19% in volume but increased in value by 30.46% compared to the previous year. The Department is also vigilant against the export of Thai fruits to China and may implement more stringent measures to deter misrepresentation.
