Louis Dreyfus acquires Bunge's oilseed assets in Poland and Hungary

Louis Dreyfus Company has acquired assets for the processing, storage, and trading of grains and oilseeds in Hungary and Poland from competing agricultural trader Bunge Global BG.N, LDC announced on Monday. The deal covers assets previously owned by Viterra, which Bunge offered to sell to gain European Union approval for its $34 billion merger with Viterra. In Hungary, the assets include an oilseed processing plant in Fót, which is one of the largest sunflower seed processing plants in Europe, according to LDC. Polish assets include an oilseed processing plant in Bodaczów, which accounts for about 15% of the total rapeseed processing volume in Poland, the announcement said. The deal also includes trading offices in the Hungarian capital Budapest and the Polish port city of Gdansk. The financial terms of the deal are undisclosed.
