For the president, it is important to expand the cultivation areas of fruits and typical products from some regions of the country so that their commercialization can be nationalized and consumed by Brazilians themselves. Lula also highlighted the role of science in opening international markets, recalling how, years ago, pest control techniques developed by Embrapa helped break the resistance of countries like China to importing fruits such as mango.
