In the quarter from October-December of 2024, Abkhazia saw a significant increase in tangerine exports to Russia, reaching 30 thousand tons, which is a 5 thousand ton increase compared to the previous season. This surge is particularly noticeable during the New Year holidays, with daily exports averaging around 1 thousand tons, translating to over 200 trucks. Alongside tangerines, Abkhazia also exported oranges, lemons, and feijoa, with volumes ranging from 130 tons to 800 tons. However, the export of these citrus fruits, among other fresh or dried fruits, is subject to quarantine and phytosanitary control, which can expedite customs control if the necessary certificates are present.
