Today, mango ranks 11th among the most consumed fruits in that market, whereas two decades ago it did not appear in the top 20. Ramón Ojeda, director of the National Mango Board (NMB), highlighted the positioning of mango in the North American giant, which has gone from being seen as an exotic (unknown) fruit to a common one. However, he pointed out that there is still potential to increase the consumption of this fruit in that market. “Three out of four households in the United States do not consume mango, so there is a significant opportunity to increase its consumption. To do this, it is necessary to activate the demand that is dormant.
