The Brazilian government is pleased with Mexico's decision to allow Brazil to export poultry genetic material to the country, following over $850,000 in imports of the product in 2023. This new market opportunity is in addition to existing authorizations for Brazil to export donkey and porcine pepsin genetic material, poultry and fish oil for animal feed to Mexico. In the first five months of 2023, Mexico imported over $1.3 billion in agricultural products from Brazil, making it the eighth largest destination for Brazilian agricultural exports. Since 2023, 73 markets have been opened in 30 countries, totaling 151 new markets in 52 countries, a achievement credited to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
