Meat Prices in Kazakhstan Reach Record Levels Ahead of Kurban Ait

When is Kurban Eid Celebrated in 2025? This year, Kurban Eid falls on June 6-8. By tradition, during the holiday, Muslims perform a sacrifice ritual in memory of the prophet Ibrahim's devotion. The following animals are permitted as sacrificial offerings: • Sheep and goats (from one year old); • Cattle (from two years old); • Camels (from five years old). On the eve of Kurban Eid, the Energyprom.kz portal analyzed meat prices — a topical issue for Kazakhstani families, especially today. According to information, by the end of April 2025, Kazakhstan recorded a general increase in meat and meat product prices. Over the month, the increase was 1.4%, and compared to April of the previous year — 9.1%. In monthly dynamics, meat and poultry became more expensive by 1.5%, and in annual dynamics — by 9.3%.
