Germany's meat production is predicted to experience a significant drop in 2023, marking the seventh year of consecutive decline since 2016. Commercial slaughterhouses are projected to produce 6.8 million tons of meat, a 4.0% decrease from the previous year. The number of pigs slaughtered is also expected to decrease by 7.0% to 43.8 million, and pork production is set to fall by 6.8% to approximately 4.2 million tons, which is 1.4 million tons less than the record year of 2016.
