The National Association of Berry Exporters expects a 12% increase in berry exports, reaching over 584,000 tons by the end of the year. As of June 16, 386,894 tons have been exported, primarily to the US, with the rest distributed to 37 countries. The industry creates around 120,000 jobs and covers 14,000 hectares of land. The sector is seeking to expand into new markets such as South Korea, India, and Malaysia with support from the federal government.
