Moldova has set a new record by exporting 12,000 tons of apricots, three times the amount from the previous year, according to FreshPlaza. This increase is attributed to a strategic market diversification, with 87% of the exports now being sent to the European Union, a significant shift from the 85% that was previously exported to the Eurasian Customs Union. The apricot cultivation in Moldova spans over 5,000 hectares, with 90% of these crops finding home in the EU markets, indicating a successful market strategy and strong consumer demand.
