More than 800,000 tons of cheap 'foreign' meat flood the market, pork prices nearly touch a 4-year low.

According to statistics from the Customs Department, in the first 10 months of 2025, Vietnam imported 811,300 tons of meat and meat products, valued at 1.62 billion USD (equivalent to nearly 52,000 VND/kg), an increase of 15.3% in quantity and 14.4% in value compared to the same period in 2024. Among these, India remains the largest supplier of meat and meat products to Vietnam in the first 10 months of the year, accounting for 18.52% of the total imported quantity of this group of goods nationwide, reaching 150.2 thousand tons, valued at 535.52 million USD. Additionally, businesses in the country have also increased imports of meat and meat products from Russia, the United States, Brazil, Canada, Poland, Spain, and China...
