Between May and August 2025, shipments totaled 71,957 tons, 137% more than in the same period of the previous year, but only grew by +44% in value. This gap is due to the drop in the average price, which in August fell by almost -41% to US$ 5.95 per kilogram, accumulating a general decrease of 39% so far this season. Additionally, there is increased production from Mexico, South Africa, and Morocco, which are putting downward pressure on prices in the United States and Europe. In this context, varietal diversification acts as a true "insurance policy" for the industry. In the current season, more than nine varieties account for 80% of shipments.
