Morocco has imported 2,800 heads of cattle from Brazil to Jorf Lasfar port in El Jadida, marking the largest shipment from Brazil for slaughter. This move is part of the government's efforts to ensure a steady red meat supply and maintain price stability in the national market. The regional director of agriculture, Hssaine Rahawi, confirmed that this is the first and largest shipment from Brazil, with previous imports totaling 6,448 heads. Mohamed Shahidi, the Head of the Veterinary Authority in El Jadida, stated that the import underwent a control process to ensure compliance with health and safety standards, involving checks on animal identification, health certificates, and shipping documents.
