Huarmey's commitment to rural development has translated into a strategic alternative to boost the family economy, improve local nutrition, and strengthen the agricultural value chain. On this path, in 2023, the National Institute of Agricultural Innovation (INIA) Breeding Producers Center (CPR INIA – Huarmey) was consolidated, implemented in alliance with the Cultural Association for Participatory Integral Development (Acudip) and Antamina, which currently houses 3,000 breeding guinea pigs of improved breeds adapted to the local climate.
